1. Accepting these terms
By taking the Check, viewing your results, or buying the Full Clarity Report, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service. Our Privacy Policy, available at /privacy, forms part of these terms.
2. What the service is
The 10-Minute Clarity Check is a self-assessment for established small business owners who want to know whether their business is still in sync with the vision they started with. You rate twelve statements from 1 to 5 across three areas — Why Clarity, Audience Clarity, and Business Direction — and receive a total score out of 60, a short interpretation of that score, and a pointer to your weakest area.
The free results screen shows your total score, your tier, your single weakest section, and a reflection of the need you told us about. The paid Full Clarity Report, available as a one-time $12 purchase, shows the complete breakdown across all three sections plus a personalized action step for your weakest area.
3. This is not professional advice
The Check, your score, and your report are tools for reflection. They are not legal, tax, accounting, financial, investment, medical, mental health, or licensed business advice, and using the service does not create a professional-client relationship between us.
Your business decisions are yours to make. Before acting on anything that carries real financial, legal, or health consequences, speak with a qualified professional who knows your situation.
4. Who may use it
You must be at least eighteen years old and able to form a binding contract. The Check is intended for the person taking it, and your results are meant for your own reflection and your own business.
5. Fair use of the service
We ask that you not:
- Copy, resell, publish, or redistribute the assessment statements, the scoring method, or the report content as a product of your own.
- Submit responses by bot, script, or any other automated means, or otherwise try to manipulate scores or results.
- Attempt to read, change, or remove other people’s responses, or probe the service for weaknesses without telling us first.
- Use the service for anything unlawful, or to send unsolicited email to anyone.
Sharing a link to the Check with someone you think would find it useful is welcome and encouraged. That is what it is for.
6. Payment for the Full Clarity Report
- The Full Clarity Report is a one-time payment of $12 USD. It is not a subscription, and we will not charge you again or hold your payment details for future charges.
- Payment is processed by Stripe on their hosted checkout page. We never see or store your full card number.
- Your report is linked to the response you submitted with your email address, so the same purchase unlocks the same report if you return to it later.
- If you cancel at the checkout page, no charge is made and nothing is taken from your card.
- Because the report is a digital item delivered immediately, all sales are final.
7. Your information
The Check does not require an account or a password. We collect the first name, email address, ratings, and stated need you give us, plus a payment reference if you buy the report. How we use, share, and protect that information — and how to ask for a copy or a deletion — is set out in our Privacy Policy.
8. Who owns what
The service itself belongs to You In One Year, LLC: the assessment statements, the scoring method, the report layout, the writing, and the design are protected by copyright and other laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the service and to keep and apply your own report.
Your own answers, your own score, and anything you write as a result of doing this work remain yours. We are not claiming them.
9. Availability and changes
We may update, pause, or retire the Check at any time. We aim not to, but we cannot promise the service will run without interruption, and we are not liable to you or to anyone else for the service being unavailable. If we change the price of the Full Clarity Report, the price you paid for a report you have already bought is not affected.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, You In One Year, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or lost business opportunities, arising from your use of the service or from your reliance on your results. Where the law caps how far we can limit liability, our total liability for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us, or twelve US dollars if you have not paid.
If you use the service in a way that breaks these terms or the law, and someone brings a claim against us as a result, you agree to cover our reasonable costs.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute arising out of them will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Illinois. Nothing here limits rights you cannot give up by contract.
12. Changes to these terms
When we update these terms, the date at the top of this page changes and the new version takes effect when it is posted here. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the current version.
